Cajun Country Driving + Eating Tour

"The world turns upside down in Cajun country on Saturdays, when folks dance in the morning and boil crawfish all night long."- Mary Tutwiler, Times-Picayune New Orleans

I was born & raised in Cajun Country so I'm biased here, but honestly you'll be hard pressed to find a greater area- the people are authentic & welcoming, great music, great food... it's just that whole laissez-faire way of life that makes me smile on the inside. I feel it each time I head west on the Atchafalaya Basin bridge.

Now I love New Orleans, but like I'm always telling my friends here, there is so much more to Louisiana than just New Orleans - so you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon this article that was recently published on nola.com: Escape the hustle of New Orleans, get carried away in Cajun Country. A driving & eating tour of southwest Louisiana- Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday!

  1. Cajun Claws is far and away the best crawfish in the area. Good luck getting a table now, though. I can only imagine how packed it gets now that they've gotten a few write-ups. I remember a 2 hour wait once...7 years ago.

  2. The husband & I are going to do this driving & eating tour here pretty soon. Haven't been to Cajun Claws or Fred's in years, should be a good time.
