My Date with Tate

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

There are few things more dreadful to me than having photos taken of myself. Dentist visits, for example. But I needed a few pictures for professional reasons so I asked around for recs and zeroed in on Tate because I liked his style. After putting it off for several months I scheduled the appointment, bought a pair of shiny red stilletos for a boost, and had the dang pictures taken. Tate came to my house, and within an hour we were done. The results? So happy. That one above is my favorite. I think few people would be pleased with close-up photos of themselves, but the older I get the more comfortable I'm getting in my own skin. Because it's me - the bump in my nose, my off-center smile, the wrinkles that are starting to form on the sides of my mouth - they're all me. And it ain't changing. I don't believe that you have to be physically beautiful to be beautiful, you know. A person's character, their laugh, the way they carry themselves, the way they live their life - that is what makes someone beautiful.

  1. My thoughts exactly! Love this post. I'm going to save it somewhere and print it out when I get back home, so I'm always reminded of what true beauty is :)

  2. Oh, and the photos are amazing! You look incredible.

  3. You're gorgeous! I do remember you telling me you weren't crazy about straight up shot photos and did keep that in mind, but I just knew the one you actually like the best was such a great one I had to put it in there. I really enjoyed meeting you and love your whole vibe on life. We must keep in touch! Thank you so much for the biz love.
