2011 in Cities

Friday, December 30, 2011

Another year begins again this weekend. I think it's good to look back on the one that just was to recognize all that we've been given, been blessed with, been able to see and do, and accomplish. 2011 was an incredible year for both Chad & me. We moved into our first home, I joined a local Publishing house as a writer, Chad graduated with his MBA from Colorado State University, and we were able to spend several weeks in Europe exploring places we'd never been before. Sure there are things we both set out to do that neither one of us even got started. Calligraphy classes, a garden. That's life. You can't do it all, nor can you beat yourself up about it. You got done what you needed to, because somehow the good bits have a way of rising to the top of the list. The others apparently weren't that instrumental after all.

This past year is proof of that.

Whatever is going on, it's always a goal of ours to see at least one new place each year. I don't know when it started, it's just an unspoken thing between the two of us. So here's my 2011 in Cities. The ones with a '*' were new to us. And with each & every one on that list, I have an amazing memory that'll be with me forever. But isn't that what life is all about? Learning, making memories, meeting people, gaining perspective and having experiences that shape you into the person you are.
