I'd like to think that the older I get, the more efficient I get at packing. It's probably the case that I just know I'm going to shop so I subconsciously leave room in the suitcase. Either way I always pack a versatile pair of shoes particularly when traveling to European cities such as Florence, Vienna, Paris, London. Flip flops don't work. They just don't. Within many large European cities if you're wearing flip flops while out sight-seeing or dining, you'll likely get stares because culturally many Europeans don't wear shoes of this nature beyond the swimming pool or gym. So my advice to clients is always a pair of comfortable closed-toe shoes. I'm a huge fan of kitten heels. They're comfortable, stylish, and they make any outfit look pulled together which is what you want. For Fall & Winter travel, I'm also really loving these grey booties. They pair well with leggings, shorts, dresses and they don't take up much room in your bag.

Ps, stay tuned to the blog for highlights from our Italy + Slovenia trip this month.
